The Police Athletic League is located at 3520 W. Boulevard. The PAL complex occupies seven acres which are leased from the County for the fee of $1.00 per year. There are three buildings: concession/restrooms, equipment/office and press box. We have two football/soccer fields and two softball diamonds. There is also a parking lot across the front of the complex.
The equipment/office building is used for sign-ups and various meetings by Cadets and coaches from January to December. Equipment for all sports is also housed in this building. The fields, press box and concessions are used for sports from April to November.
The Police Athletic League is handled by a Board of Directors. The Board meets on the first Thursday of every month at 5:30 PM in the second floor conference room at the City Building.
PAL is funded by donations, fundraisers and sponsorships. There is also a seven dollar sign-up fee for each sport. The Director is a non-sworn City employee. The City also pays a sworn Police Officer to help as needed. Volunteers help run all of our activities. At the present time there are over 2,000 children and over 400 adults involved with the Police Athletic League.
