Mainstage Theatricalcelebrates 20 Years!

Come join in the 2 day festivities as the Midwest Section of USITT joins in the celebration of the twentieth anniversary of Mainstage Theatrical to be held at Cardinal Stritch University.  It will start with a vendor showcase on Friday afternoon, September 14th, and be followed by a day of workshops to be held on Saturday, September 15th.  Check the website for Mainstage Theatrical at www.mainstage.com for updated info.

There is no programming charge for this event.




A Day in Chicago

The Goodman Theatre has offered to open up their new space that day to members of the Midwest Section of USITT.  The tour will be lead by Jeff Muscivan and will be an indepth backstage tour.  The tour is being done by special arrangement with the section, and will be limited to 30 people.  Pre-registration is required for the tour.  Due to the limited number of spaces for the tour, members of the section will be given priority.

USITT Annual Conference & Stage Expo
New Orleans, LA
February 13-16

Join your friends and colleagues at the only national conference for professionals, educators, and students in the world of theatre technology.  Attend the Midwest Section Annual Meeting which will be held on Thursday morning, February 14th at 8:00 am to find out how to get involved in your Section.  This is an excellent opportunity to meet and talk with fellow members of the Midwest Section and give us feedback about what you would like to see for future events!  Coffee and nosh will be provided.   [Thanks, $crooge!]

Southern Illinois University

The Spring event for the regional section will be held at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, Illinois (near St. Louis, MO) on April 13th.  Registration will be at 9:00 am.  [Central Daylight Savings Time]

Click here to jump to the Lyric Opera home page The morning workshops will include a lighting demo by High End Systems and Design Lab in Chicago.  Opposite that demo will be a makeup demo by Molly McGrath, a makeup artist from Chicago who is the staff makeup artist at Lyric Opera of Chicago, and also works for CBS in Chicago.  She teaches at Roosevelt University.

The afternoon program is a tour of the Fox Theatre in St. Louis.

The fees are standard: Members:$5.00, Student Members: $2.00, Non Members $25.00, Student Non-Members $12.00.  Non member rates include a one year membership to the section.  Sustaining get two free tickets.  You do not need to pre register for this event, however if you think you are going to the makeup demonstration and you are a faculty member, we are trying to get an approximate count so that we can have catalogs from Ben Nye available for you.
